BEECHWORTH CLUB PROJECTS
SALVATION ARMY PROJECT
We have a partnership with the Beechworth Salvation Army Corps. This entails assisting in the Thrift Shop customer service area, receiving and processing donations received, administration duties and preparing a monthly community lunch on a Sunday for those needy within the community.
We also assist with there monthly Garage Sale held on the first Saturday of the month in the church grounds,
The club participates in collecting used spectacles, we have 2 collection points in town being the Local Pharmacy and the Salvo's Thrift shop. so far this year we have sent off 139 pairs for use overseas.
EMERGENCY MEDICAL INFORMATION BOOK
This is another project we have picked up on this year, Our local Pharmacy, Medical Centre and Hospital have agreed to display these books for customers and patients to take on a donation basis, these booklets enable helpful medical information to be attached by magnet to a fridge.
Once again we will be selling christmas cakes through local businesses, the price this year will still be a reasonable $16 each(Subject to confirmation) Cakes are usually available sometime in November! For more information contact John on 0417 054 553 or Email firstname.lastname@example.org
Mints are still available at various outlets around town.
We were fortunate to gain a grant through TAC to help improve a local rest area just outside town on the right hand side of the Beechworth Wangaratta Road. This project helped beautify this rest spot, refurbish picnic tables, erect 2 shelters and planting of shrubs. This wias done in partnership with the local Police and. Beechworth Correctional Centre Community Team of which we were truly thankful
Two shelters have been erected along with refurbishment of 2 seats. Tree planting has taken place, water tanks and rubbish bins for rest area patrons.
ADOPT A HIGHWAY
This is another project of the club which the club has takenon, We are cleaning an area along the Beechworth/Wangaratta Road between Robinsons Rd and Flat Rock Road.
Local schools actively participate in this project, winning entry moves on to District Level..
We run a BBQ at the finish of the Barrowthon at Mount Buffalo Chalet car park. The Barrowthon is held to celebrate the first barrow push between to gentlemen as the result of a bet. It was a resounding success and gets bigger each year, teams raise money for many charitable causes. This is now run every 2 years so hopefully will return in 2019.
Although no longer a club project we still support the concept, it is now a wonderful community project.

PICK MY PROJECT
We have applied for a State Government Grant to refurbish a historical house next door to the croquet club, if successful when completed it will house many community groups within the local community more details can be sought on https://email@example.com. Unfortunately we were not successful but there were a lot of projects which will proceed around the North East Region, all of which can only benefit the local communities.
This year we have catered for a number of local events such as, Keep Australia Beautiful, Great Victorian Bike Ride and feeding the performers at the Celtic Tattoo. We are also doing the BBQ for the Community Churches Christmas Carols In The Park and will be assisting with the Australia Day 2019 celebrations,
